The advisor or sales bird hasn't contacted me all week. Considering they cannot sell houses they are not exacally chasing people :|

Nationwide is a safe bet as it isn't a bank - not sure what protection you have, but they are less likely to go under imho.

Yup.... Looks like he's been to see them and they have said Halifax is one of the cheaper ones...

I purchased and arranged a mortgage for my first property with Halifax and I would never use them again, if I had to describe them in one word 'incompetent' springs top mind

Some of the best deals for ftb's mate. What sort of deposit you got?

I bank with Lloyds TSB and never had a single problem. Even the staff are boss at my local bank.

Just worried they will not take a payment or something..

My misses has had trouble with her current account with Halifax.

I'm with Barclays and never had such problems. Their mortgages always seem reasonable.

I've never been happy with them. Charge you to take money out of an ISA if you don't order money, same with my instant saver account too. They also charged me £12 when I never received a letter to say I needed to pay my credit card. Totally forgot I needed to pay it...

Looking at mortgages and the Halifax are about the best giving my situation according to the advisor.

Anyone with them for a mortgage? I'd rather use Lloyds TSB but the intrest is a lot more :(
