You cant do much damage mate, the circuit will be protected anyway so if you do draw too much current you'll trip the breaker/blow the fuse before any damage is done

How hard would it be to change my single to a double

You're not supposed to run a 4-gang off a 4-gang. You've got the current from 4 devices running through 1 socket of a device that in turn is only meant for 4. With a computer, TV, Xbox etc I'm surprised it's not gone up already.

Yeh i can understand what ur saying, i might fit an adaptor socet thing in the wall which has a surge breaker which is also fused etc to that should protect a bit more?

lets say each thing you have plugged in has a 3 amp fuse protecting it. and you have 7 things plugged in. if all the pieces of euipment had a fault at the same time you could potentially draw 21 amps through 1 13 amp socket. thats not good.

what sort of loads are you looking atr whith the fishtank equipment? heater? lamps? i reckon they will pull a fair bit of current.

Without working out the exact figures, that seems like too much load. I wouldn't risk it.

have a look at the info sticker on the equipment you are plugging in. write down the current draw for each one and add them up.
