Installing gas central heating in a 1/2 bedroom flat. £2k
New fitted kitchen for a small-ish (say 8ft x 8ft) kitchen? Price with and without appliances. I pay £600 without, no more than £1k with, in my flats that are 12'x9' room size, check out the sale prices at MFI etc
Bathroom suite (one price with shower, one with bath) about £300 depends on quality, but a take away bathroom at Wickes is very good imo
Double glazing for a 1/2 bedroom flat get price quotes, could be £2k

All prices not including fitting

I know i've been really vague, i'll be looking for cheap but nice/modern stuff.

Just trying to price up a development before I do some research.

Thanks :) xxx

That's pretty much what I would have said:thumbs:

Personally i'd make do with what was orignially there and buy stuff you like when you can afford it. That's how i do it.

I've bought stuff in the past because it was better than the original and hated it. Then changed it again.

It just depends on what you are going for....you can always shop around and get stuff cheaper, but I found that we spent ages looking through brochures and shops and ended up just getting confused by it all.

Go out and get some brochures and price up what you need.
For bathrooms remember you'll need taps / waste / shower valves / tiles

We were £3.5k for central heating (including boiler and rads) plumbing for the bathroom, fitting the bathroom, removing the old immersion tank and plumbing in a washing machine.

I'm not sure how much our bathroom was as we've bought bits for it and the en suite together.

Kitchen was £2800 not including appliances, but it is quite big

Windows are £7000, but again they are quite big, and that includes building work for changing a door into a window and a window into a door

Thats quite considerably cheaper than I thought.

So £5k would get a pretty decent revamp?
