Obviously Ive not got the tank so no idea, but the guys who Ive seen with it setup had the spray bar higher up so the water level was upto the top where it should be.

If it works for you though then leave it, just personally think they look better when the water level is up above the top trim.

can you not just move the filter outlet further up above the water level?

And tbh, even if it was just below the surface pointing up, the surface movement caused will give more than enough oxygen in the water.

cleaning is normally done with a hose right out the back door into the drain so isnt too bad

i have the water levels lower to allow my filter water to splash on the top to get alot of air in the water in my tanks due to number of fish in malawi tank and with the discus the water temp (32 degrees) and my discus tank also has 2 large black ghost knife fish and the way the breed is by thinking its rainy season

Do you have fun cleaning that?

I love malawis... Nice discus.

I have a small malawi tank at the mo with just 3 auratus in it. Thinking of getting a turtle instead though and taking my malawis into work.

I also have a 125l (tiny really) community tank that I really want to change to malawis.
