£175 for legal Fees (as i got them paid as part of my mortgage)

there's an exemption or lower rate of stamp duty in deprived areas, but at 80k that won't affect you anyway.

Haven't heard of anything else being reduced because of it

My survey was £120 aswell..

Sold my house for 76k and bought another for £82k (no estate agent fees involved) my solicitor bill was £760 and he was superb.

sounds about right, were payig 650 on 120k, and they are so fuckin slow, went with cheap rather than useful

Solicitor fees??? I dont think theres any way to get out of paying, you use his services you pay the man :|

I was about £500 for fee's on a £36k.

I have just been quoted 769 for the legal fees on a 80k purchase, includes soliciter, searches, land reg, and bank charges.

I have now just been told that in (un-popular) deprived areas you can get away with not paying this.

Any truth in this.....Cheers:thumbs:
