We've got water heated flooring throughout our apartment....thermostat in each room. Its the nuts.

My mum has it in her bathrrom and kitchen, works really well :D She has this little control box on the wall too so you can set the temperature, timer etc

The electric stuff just comes in big rolls on a mat and you roll it out and cut to size, then tile over.

The water system is lot more complicated as it usually goes ontop of the florr insualtion then gets screeded over and then your floor finish goes on that.

Underfloor heating can be electric or water.

Just having ours done now.

Will get some pics when its finished (half done now)

ours is electric but linked onto the central heating so comes on at the same time.

how does underfloor heating work anyway? is it electric?

we have it in a few rooms and its great. Have thick slate flooring in the kitchen and warms it up nicely.

I wouldnt bother with underfloor heating mate. I know a guy who sells this for a living but wont have it in his house. I dont know a lot about it but the fact he can get it cheap as fook but still wont have it speaks volumes.

I kinda like knowing that people may be watching :o :lol:

I will be interested in this as my next project is Bathroom, I will be getting a plumber to fit the new suite but rest will be done by me....I wanted a walk in shower but with kids need the bath still..

As I said in the other bathroom, we're looking at fitting a new bathroom in the house here, with a budget of £4k total. Im gonna try and do as much of the work myself as I can, but may have to call someone in to fit the shower, but either way, I thought Id start a new thread in case people are interested in the progress again, its gonna take a few weeks for any real progress though.

We're going to pretty much gut it and start again - gonna replace the bath with a big walk in digital power shower and tile the bathroom, hopefully with underfloor heating. I was thinking about turning it into a wetroom but its gonna be far too much hassle and cost. :(

Ive found a sink and toilet on ebay that I absolutely love


I know the tiles that I want, ive seen them in the topps tiles catalogue but cant see them online.
Will update this as and when theres any progress!
