I said there was no overall total limit to how much money you can put in to an ISA I'm not on about the maximum per tax year.

You can only invest 7k in an isa per year. 3k in cash and the rest in stocks and shares.

There is also restrictions as to how long you can put money into a isa, as colin has highlighted above.

Halifax Web Saver, you get a current account too and manage both online and can switch money between the two. 5% interest.

I have one of those. A very good account. You get interest once a year IIRC but if you are saving £50 a month, after a years worth of saving you will get a pretty nice sum from interest.

I also have an isa with The Halifax, similar sort of interest IIRC its about 4.5%

either will be worth it.

Mini = £3k cash

Maxi = £3k cash
the remaining £4k is thru shares, life assurances, pensions etc.

Marc

Mini cash ISA - £3k per tax year.

drax

Marc

Russ

Nationwide Instant Access Cash ISA - At £50 a month you won't breach the £3k pa limit but thats your best bet without a doubt

No doubt about it you should open an ISA account. No tax on your interest.

You can save up to £3000 per year in these accounts. Sounds perfect for you.

All major banks do them
