ask for a loan with a defered repayment period. a bank called first national does them. i used to sell them on behalf of first national. only downside is you pay interest for that year, and the interest rate on a deffered loan is always higher.

Nope you can't.

Only thing you could do is get a credit card with a massive limit, transfer some money from the card to a UK bank account and use the reminder of the money left on the card to survive whilst travelling and either ring up the credit card company once a month and use the money in the bank account to pay the minimum payment or just leave someone with enough paymentslips and money to pay the minimum payment every month whilst you are away.

Would mean someone having to open your statements every month though.

Is it possible to get a loan then go travelling for a year or so and not pay anything back for that year then when you get back, start paying the loan back?

I'm not a student BTW. So student loan is outta the question.

This is probably a ridiculous thought but thought i'd ask anyway!
