In London, ground rents and maintenance fees usually come up to about £1000-1500/year, and then there's council tax on top of that (probably going to be about the same again).

Solicitors fee's all in £605 (including land survey etc...)
Survey £370 (for homebuyers)
100% mortgage so no deposit
Luckily No arrangement Fee's
Buildings & Contents £188 for the year with Liverpool Vic

Then things like setting your phone line up (£100 with BT, £30 NTL)

^ me too although havent been given a price yet.... for some strange reason though our building insurance is covered in the maintaince fee so we only have to get contents insurance... but still though its gonna be something like 800-1k:(

valuation about 130 quid

and then oviously yer morgage payments per month

things to think about are...
find out if you have to pay a maintaince fee in the estate.
connection fees for water/gas/electric/phone
furnishing the place (cost loads)


diferent country though

oh and them prices are euro's:P

We are paying £2,600 for our brand new house costing £165,000 in fees but £1,650 of that is stamp duty :mad:

That said the housing company gave us £8,250 towards our deposit :D

you need to pay
local searches and mining searches which can cary around #100
depending on survey 300-800
300 would be just a mortgage and they wud tell u what major things are wrong, homebuyers is around 800 and will go over with a comb
solicitors fees are around 400, but again varie where u go.
and dont forget stamp duty, 1% of what u pay for the house.
most people require 10% for deposit, some will do 5% or if ur on 100% interest mortgage u need nowt.
but i thought u had to be 21 to get a mortgage?

Local Search (around £150)
House Survey (I paid £300)
Solictors fees (thousands)
Maybe a financial adviser fees on setting up your mortatage (but this can be waived if you have your building insurance with them)

Setup fee's and what-not. Not sure of exact figures but give a mortgage consultant a ring from a variety of banks and ask them.

Reason im asking is im 19 atm, wouldnt mind phoning up barrett or some other housing company and tell them i will give them £5000-10,000 deposit for houses they might build in the next 2-3 years around my area.

With a bit of luck i will be qualified by then earning decent money to afford the mortgauge, if not sell the house and hopefully make a £20-30k+ Profit

Any ideas?

Also is there the same costs when buying a brand new house?
