I feel your pain, I had the exact same problem a couple weeks ago :lol:

Ended up getting what I needed in-store at a place called Pagazzi Lighting.

Have a look for comercial bulbs.
Its how we get them at work, the manufactors sell them as comercial use only bulbs to get around the red tape

What a massive pain in the arse they have become.

I need some bayonet fit, pearl lense, normal bulb shape bulbs as I have a dimmer switch and clear lense bulbs make the light too harsh.

Can I find them?

All I can get hold if is either the proper energy saving ones with a curly tube on, which won't work with a dimmer, or clear glass halogen ones.

Anyone got a source for normal ones? even pearl glass halogen ones will do.
