Originally posted by iceman I think the total bill for the equipment was around 4k but that included £350 on the AV cabinet and £750 on cabling. It was only half a days job to get the system on the wall i actually paid a company to do it for me there bill was £300 and a few cups of tea which wasnt to bad. The Kefs are stunning i must say the Onkyo does compliment them very well, and yes this is a brand new build so paper walls all the way :) Found a nice rug now just need some canvas painting :) Stu
:! £750 on cabling? what the fuck did you use? Oh and before any "audiophiles" come preaching about good quality cable etc.. I used to work for Prestige Audio so I know cable 'can' cost a lot, but makes little noticable difference in moderate installs such as this.
The £750 was a rough estimate i think it could be more in the region of £600 to £700. All cables where IXOS except the speaker cables which where cambridge audio, 1) IXOS HDMI 458's ( 2 * 3 metre £100.00 each & 2 * 1 metre £80.00 each) 2) IXOS Optical 1 metre(Sky HD to Onkyo £30.00) 3) IXOSMono Subwoofer 3 metre £30.00 4) IXOS Power Cables changed * 2 £50.00 5) IXOS Banana plus for the connections on the Onkyo only £20.00 6) Cambridge Audio speaker cable (30 metre & £4 per metre) £120.00 7) Cat 6 RJ45 custom length network cables * 2 £30.00 Stu
