I've had it for ages... was going to leave it at my mums and get a kitten, but i won't allow the cat to go on the new sofa etc.. let alone a kitten

TBH You're wise taking on a cat instead. Kittens are cute, but are a hell of a lot more hard work, scratches, bites, piss on bed & shoes, shit on the carpet, the list goes on...

We'd take it mate but one problem is we both work during the days now and no-one to look after him etc during the day, and were gone for 9+ hours a day.

It's yours if you want it, but it'll definitely need a trip to the vets before you let it go running around outside. It'll also need to be sorted out so you don't have more kittens too...if you know what I mean.

me and my gf have been cleared to have a cat at our rented flat, but not until we've replaced both front doors (one main one and one inside one) to have cat flaps, so until we've saved up for them we can't get one :(

My mates bird was round the other night if that counts  Otherwise, no. Again, it's only 7 weeks old. It's been around kids and that's about it.
