What dimensions is the rio180?

That'l do then. I think i've made up my mind.

I'll change from what is in there now to some pirahnas. I don't really want to see my fish getting massacred 3 months down the line so i'll give them to my mate.

really easy TBH.

Can feed dead food (prawns, old chick breast, white fish meat, etc.). And just need looking after like any normal fish.

I think that may be a bad idea then. I'll have to pass off the rest of the fish.

Are they fairly easy to keep? I know they like live food and frozen food. Anything else to keep an eye on?

they will grow fast from that size, upto about 6-7" within a year. By the time they get to 2" (not long at all) they will be able to catch and eat most other fish.

OK. The pirahna themselves are very small, neon tetra size at the moment.

I'm stumped of what do do then. Do I put them in and see how it goes or wait until i have a clear tank?

if the Piranha are fairly small then yeah, they could stay in there a while BUT they will eventually start nipping at the other fish, and after a few months of growth they'll soon be attacking and eating whatever is in there with then.

Ah yeah. They are pretty peaceful in comparison to other cichlids.

I've never had a problem with it. He nips a bit though.

The tank is a Rio 180, with plenty of cover for little fish and shy ones.

In there at the moment is a couple of dwarf catfish and a plec, 1 silver shark, 1 cichilid, 3 flying foxes and some odd little tetras that are left overs (all the others died) Forgot, 2 Silver Dollars aswell.

The pirahnas are advertised as red-bellies :boggle:

What size tank is it? Also what size are the Piranha and current fish?

I have a tank at the moment with a few fish in there. The biggest being a Cichilid and a Silver shark.

What i'm wanting to know is, can i put some pirahna in there? I can get some red bellies from a local place. I was thinking of maybe three of them?
