My tax code is 503L or something like that so my allowance is 5030...

You cant claim back until after April 07 for yr 06/07, Its calculated taking personal allowance & the rest is taxed at varying amounts.

I got my dad to check mine as it stands & im due back almost £2k.

It depends how much you earn...
If you earned less than the personal allowance then yes...if you earned more, then no.
Personal allowance for the year is something like £4200...can't remember the exact figure off the top of my head

I have been working all through uni (3 years) and my post grad year....been paying £150-170 a month tax on average too...

you can get an in year tax rebate if u stopped working with p45 uyou dont have to wait or start workin they send you out your check n you put it in the bank you can claim upto 5 years or summat

Im due some tax back for 06/07, basically I worked from April to September then become a student so have paid too much, also I was on emergency tax for 4 months. How can I work out what im due back & when will I get it?

Well I'm a student and worked for a year, I used the student tax checker on the IR website.

you need to send either a p45 or p60 a covering letter and a p50 form.

wont get a rebate for 05/06 until april 07 if you plan to work again before april 07 though.
