Originally posted by deano87 smcGSI16v, Cole said to ask you about the Swinley conditions? Looking to go next Sunday but want to make the most of it. Used to know it pretty well before the trails were put in, but heard some of them are closed? Do people still do the off-piste stuff?
There is some maintenance going on so may be a couple of diversions in place. Compared to a couple of weeks back it has dried out some what, but is still quite wet in some places and the swinley grind is strong at the moment. Yes people do still ride of piste. There is Monaco and New England hill area that's still ridable. I always prefer the old deer stalker rather than the new version. Then there is crowthorne and everything beyond pips seat/ other side of the black, so corkscrew end of watsons wander. The old stuff is still there and is still riden, but generally only by people who know where it is, so in these wet conditions they are better running than the official stuff. If you want a guide then I am available, so long as my pads show up.
