exactly, supporters dont pay 40+ a ticket just to watch the game. its only within their rights to open up a few of the players

That fucking prick Richard Keys said it was bordering on assault by the goalkeeper

Not as good as the other pitch invader that got a kicking this year.

Agreed. Steve Bruce, however, is just a fanny :P

Definitely, don't blame him at all.

same thing happened to a lower league team in this country iirc. the player manager or someone got sent off??

joke tbh, what if he had a knife? are they just supposed to stand there waving?

What the fuck. So because he's a footballer, he can't defend himself? If someone is crazy enough to run onto the pitch in front of thousands of fans, just to assault someone, then they could be crazy enough to take a knife too so the poor cunt has every right to protect himself.

You cannot sensibly send some one off that has been attacked from behind :| It's a natural reaction to fend for yourself.

If that was Suarez people would be calling for him to be shot

That's a shambles! I agree with you Bob, if a supporter steps on to the pitch and assaults a player, the player should be within their rights to fight back without punishment.

Unfortunately, IMO the ref was in the right but the rules need changing - why send someone off for a non footballing incident :S
