It's weird because I'm looking at my mates pictures from the couple years after when we were at Primary school and they went on to be unbeaten without me in goal as I moved away in the winter of '92 :(

4 of the guys from our team of 7 in the pic above played for our school team the year after and I missed out :(

Don't play with anyone that I used to as I moved away from the area.

I think a few of the guys still play together. Would be interesting to see what level everyone went onto. Think only 1 has gone pro

Just last week found out my friend (and arch enimy as he was the competition for the County keeper place) who was England Under 19 Schools goalkeeper is now.... the a greenkeeper at my dads Golf course :D

Nah, I moved away to Derby to go to uni, and hardly played football since :(

Did IT so they were all too nerdy to play, worked in a student pub, so they were all too drunk or lazy to play :( So hardly played at all in the last 8 years or so, have the occasional kick about. I need to man the fuck up and try and join a team that I don't know anyone.

Did that with Hockey and got back into it

Do you play with a lot of the people you did at younger age? Going through my mates pictures he did.

Never had that as I moved away and lost all my confidence :(

The wonders of Facebook put me back in touch with a couple of old team mates from when I was a promising young goalkeeper. This photo was taken at the end of our first season when we let in 1 goal

Won the league, runners up in the cup :( photo was taken in 1991 under 9's

I left New Romney in 1992 and never got chance to stick with this group of players who all went on and played together for years after.
