Might opt for them I reckon. Cheaper and probably more comfortable.

Yeah its allowed. But I don't find them easy to run with. The moulded ends of the studs tend to slip when I turn. I'm the lone striker in both my teams so I need to be able to turn quick and stuff.

This particular astro is quite old and the technology at the time was meant to be top notch. It retains water, but as it happens it retains too much water!! The ball fizz's about the surface! It's a nightmare trying to run onto through balls.

Next gen astro is the nuts. We play 5 aside on that stuff, it's brilliant.

What does everyone wear?

I'm in need of a new pair and at the moment it's a choice between Nike Contact Astro Turf and Puma Esito Turf.

Nike:

Puma:

I've yet to try any on, but the Nike's feel alot more comfortable and have significantly more padding. But they look like trainers and not boots, also the studs don't seem very long and the astro turf I play on is always wet! So i'm not sure how they'd cope.

The Puma's look better and have better studs, but they feel thin and quite flimsy and i'm not sure how they'd hold up in the winter with it being freezing out. My feet would be less protected I reckon, and would probably feel everything!

The Nike's are £27, and the Puma's £35.
