The first 2% will just be trying to get approval of everyone there; then I will realise how unfit I am.

I'm with you brother....

Over 5 miles seems do able, it might be bit of shock for me since the hills around my way aren't very high. I'm happy to plod on if the decent is good. :)

3 of my riding buddies done it last year here is the strava showing the route etc

oh they did forget to turn off back on to the llanberris trail hence the long detour at the bottom

Watching a video it looks like the most bike friendly descent from Snowdon:

The guy in the video rides more than I reckon I will be able to.

Still sounds like a good laugh.

I deffo want to do this. I am also easy on dates etc. I do think a week end would be better as people may have to sacrifice 2 days holiday to do it if staying up there.

Yeh will be up for this need a date sorted tho because would book a room for the night and midweek prob better not as busy and cheaper room rates for anyone staying. Going egypt 1st may so for me would need to be a week or 2 before.

Says a different route down on the stuff I was reading last night. Could add a bit extra in as well to make it longer.

Doug

So do you just ride up and down the llanberris tourist walking path? Or is it a different route?

Right lads, there has been a fair bit on interest after I mentioned the fact I fancied riding Snowdon in 2014. There is a moratorium between the dates of May 01st to the 30th September where by no biker will ride the highlighted bridleways:

http://www.cyclingnorthwales.co.uk/pages/snowdn_volunt.htm

I am thinking the closer to May the 01st we could all do the better it could be, but then it will become rambler time as the nicer weather arrives.

Reply to this thread with a expression of interest and we can hopefully sort things out. I know weekends will be best for most but at the same time weekends will be popular with rambling twat types.....
