Silverstone is a different ball game altogether. I would rent a 400mm if you can although a 300mm and some clever cropping could do the trick aswell. :)
Keep forgetting to check this thread

I went for the 300mm, they have a 400mm but it costs twice as much

The only time I've been to Silverstone before is Trax '08, and didn't see much of the track. Hopefully I'll be able to find some good places  :D

Weekend Racer trackday at Oulton Park, 6th Nov

Not far for you, free entry for spectators and an introduction to drifting day on the drift circuit too.

Perfect opportunity imo :)

Great pics

300mm at Silverstone is ok providing you pick the right places to stand. I've not been there since the new layout was built but I should imagine its still fine.

400mm would cover you everywhere, 300 covers you for 50% of the circuit.

A 300mm is essential to get in close. The technique allows you to take good pics. ;)
