95% of the time my camera is in aperture priority, I don't see a point in giving myself more to do when i'll just pick the same settings as the camera anyway.

Have a look on flickr for a style of shot you like, and on the right hand side at the bottom you can go to 'More properties' which will tell you info about that shot.

For light trails set your camera to shutter priority (shutter around 30seconds) and a low ISO (ISO 100)
Oh, and a tripod
Will still be a bit of trial and error.

All depends on how light it is when you take the photo.

Rough guide, shutter speed over 10secs, aperture, i couldn't tell you without knowing how light it is, whatever you need to expose it right, iso 100

Put it on shutter or aperture priority and take it from there.

In general if using a tripod it's long shutter low iso but there are infinitely different values.
