do you degauss frequently?

I don;t see it as anything more than putting filters on the lens or adjusted the saturation in the dark room. I used to be like you Ian but nowadays most pictures you see are adjusted in photoshop. I use filters on the camera and grads in photoshop but do remember that my moniters are calibrated and that it is more than likely they will look off colour wise light or dark too.

i agree Ian, i feel the same about Ross' ass, the more i look, the more un-natural it appears

It looks impressive because its unnatural, same reason wide angles or extreme telephoto generally look interesting, its because your eye wouldn't normally see things like that, or colours like that in the sky in that pic. I personally think it stops being a photo and starts becoming abstract colour and shape when you mess too much.

actually it would now appear that we have stumbled on the problem , your isnt calibrated and thats why you think it looks good

Nismo

Field is too dark. Grass is also, but it would be better not there at all.

Toooooooo much saturation though! You love that!

Vibs doesn't like the grass at the bottom of the pic. That's probably why! :P

Before

After

I created a quick mask and set a gradient moving from top to bottom. went back to pic and did levels and saturation. did contrast on whole pic then noise ninja and saved
