I just ordered a Kodak DX7590, similar to that Fuji S5500. Price was £250. Also got a 512mb card and spare battery too.

yeah i checked ebuyer out. i worked it out to be just over £200 with a 1GB SD card, which i thought was quite good. I'll prob order it this week sometime, so will have to post some test pics.

ebuer.com appears the cheapest for the A520

think i'm gonna go for the canon a520, cos on some sites, it looks like the pentax has a limit to the size of the SD memory, only 512 mb ?? So i think i'm gonna go for the a520 with a 1GB card !!!

I was so disappointed when DPReview had nothing to do with double penetration :(

Yeah, i have the SV and got no complaints with it at all.

not as small as the Optio S was, but 5mp and 5x Optical Zoom, you can't complain really :)

consider

fuji fineppics F810 £250 http://www.cameras2u.com/products/details.cfm?PRODUCT=N076000A&refer=klk

canon S70 £250 http://www.internetcamerasdirect.co.uk/canon-powershot-s70-digital-camera-deals.htm

Olympus C-770 £224 http://www.bestcameras.co.uk/shop/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Olympus_Camedia_C_770_939.html?ref=kelkoo

pentax optio sv £225 http://www.bestcameras.co.uk/shop/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Pentax_Optio_SVi_677.html?ref=kelkoo

I'd probably go for the pentax with a 1gb (best option) or a 512mb at the very least from ebuyer (normally the cheapest but never really looked hard)

A camera that you can't use?

Budget for memory also!

the A520 looks quite good actually, i'll keep it in mind.

What if i went over £200 up to a maximum of around £250 (without SD card), what could i get ???

Cheers

The compact stuff is as capable image-wise but they're generally more fiddly to use and don't offer you as much control over the pic.

If you want night time stuff or some opportunity to experiment, get the one with the most buttons :D

I'm after a new digital camera as the one i have got is a couple of years old now and is only a 2 MP one.

I have a budget of around £200-250 and would like a decent camera with plenty of features that i could use once i get used to taking proper photo's. The only problem i'm having is that i'm not sure whether to get a larger camera and buy a cheap one to take out into town at night, or get a good smaller one i can take anywhere.

I'm not to sure whats on the market at the min, so any help appreciated !!!

Cheers

Steve
