deprends what yur going to do with it. big prints need big mp nut if all your going to do is 7x5s at the most plus webstuff then 4p will do. do you want just point and click or do you want to be able to manual focus set aperture/shutter speed etc etc.

dont worry too much about number of pixels, anything around 250 will have a high enough number not to worry bout it.

Also dont just look for the highest number because an 8 million pixel camera at that price may sound great but in practise its too many pixels for a point and shoot camera, and you end up with noise in the picture. Need to consider lense quality, battery type etc.

And as mentioned before, what are you looking for, a small point and shoot or something bigger, with more zoom and more creativity?

Do you want a really small one to fit in your pocket? If not search for the fuji s5600, its quite chunky but has some good features on it and is around £200.

Just looking at getting a new digital camera but whats the minimum amount of mega pixels i want to be looking at?

I dont want to spend more then around £250.

Any advice welcome as i dont realy have a clue about cameras.
