You won't go that wide for £300 with a digital SLR.

It'll get you something starter to learn on, but that technique either needs a modern mount, or an expensive lens, or in Ross's case, both.

no lol

nikon D50 plus a lens, plus a memory card will set you back around £500

Konica Minolta Dynax 5D Digital SLR Camera with 18-70MM willset you back around £470 plus you'll need a memory card

it is a wide angle lense. on a digital camera the size of the sensor is usually smaller than the size of a film negative. so without going into too much detail my canon 20D sensor is 1.6x smaller than 35mm film so has the effect of increasing focal length by 1.6x. my 10-22mm lens (used above) has the 35mm equvilent of 16-35mm. so looking though my camera at 10mm is the same as looking through a film camera at 16mm. point and click camera have even smaller sensors which is why their lenses are not as long.

No any SLR.

Digital stuff has that crop factor, you need a very expensive or very new digital body to not be affected by this.

Butler

do you have to have a special camera for it to fit

Ian

Very wide angle.

Not sure of the figures but that is around 16mm I think?

I'm sure its a 10mm lens with a 1.6 crop factor on that body. Ross will confirm.
