a teleconverter will increase the aperture of the lens and degrade the quality. this is acceptable on very very good lenses but not then poor ones we speak of | |

the price of your lense does sound tempting, but it dont think its compatible with the teleconverter i have | |

or you have the 18-55 get teh canon 70-200 f4 L for£479 plus you get cash back vouchers for £70 with that lens | |

Its not wide especially on a 1.6 body, and the reach isn't so great and its a bit dark compared to 70-200 f4 or f2.8. | |

any where up to 400 is ideal, i did look at l series ones but they are like a grand!! | |

All similar performance wise but you pay more for more width or more reach. Depends on budget really, there's no bad choice there at the price. | |
