cheers mate, got it working! Does this mean pages might load a bit faster too? Especially ones with loads of small images, as it will download more than 2 at a time before making a new connection?

Or

Open Notepad and paste in the following :

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]

"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=dword:0000000a
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=dword:0000000a

Save it as blah.reg , then double click it and it'll put it in there for you

Yep That is correct .

New DWORD, name it as that, then double click it and give it a value of 0000000a Hexadecimal .

what, so the name of the string is "MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server" and the value is 0000000a ?

To comply with current Internet standards (Request for Comments 2068), Internet Explorer limits the number of simultaneous downloads to two downloads, plus one queued download. This configuration is a function of the browser. However, as connection speeds increase, and the number of total connections that are allowed to Internet servers increase, the two-connection limit may be restrictive. To increase the number of simultaneous connections that are allowed to 10, follow these steps:

1 - Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).

2 - Locate the following key in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry values:

"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=Dword:0000000a
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=Dword:0000000a

it's down to the site you're downloading from

you can use a download manager to manage all the downloads so it automatically downloads the next file when one is finished

Drew

posted on 29th Oct 03 at 21:26

ah never thought of that - so ya saying teh site mite limit to 2 downloads at a time?

Super_si

posted on 29th Oct 03 at 21:25

Drew

i can only download 2 things at a time, if i try a 3rd, it will wait till 1 is downloaded before asking where to save the next

anywhere i can change these settings so can download a few at a time?
