i got my oem NEC 1300a DVD-RW drive as an OEM from a computer fair, so much cheaper and worth it! jus plugged it in and XP noticed and did what it needed to, works fine! | |

OEM will come with no software or retail box , therefore making the product cheaper. No drivers are required all you need is CD/DVD burning software which is widely availiable for download on the net :) | |

OEM, u wont get the box with the pics, ull get it in a sealed bag with the manuals and leads. | |

OEM = Original Equipment Manufactures, or summink along those lines. so if its original all it will come with will be what the products maker puts in the box, drivers and all connecting leads plus sometimes u mite get software, i did wen buyin my cdrw | |

OEM means no software and manules i think if i can rember yeh my 3 Pionners and 3 TEAC were OEM no manuules e.t.c. | |

what is the difference between OEM and retail? i have ordered a NEC DVD R/RW 4x for £90ish quid and wondering if it will come with drivers manuals, etc? |
