I doubt it will be long before MSBlast is modified further, like how CodeRED was to create CodeRED II (there was a nice floor in the original CodeRED similiar to MSBlast, where it infects slowly due to crappy code)

Just keep ya firewalls up & ya AV up to date! & don't accept any files off anyone ya don't trust!

Also another method to stop ur comp restarting just incase you get re-infected...

Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services.

Scroll down to "remote procedure call (RPC)"
Double Click it - goto Recovery;

Youll see 3 drop down menus,

First Failure;
Second Failure;
Subsequent Failures;

Set all those to "Take no Action" Click apply.

Kiss goodbye to the reboots, find urself a decient scanner and get rid of the infected files.

I have Win2K, which doesnt reboot like XP does when it runs into trouble, so it was easy to get rid

You could

1) stop the MSblast.exe file running using Task Manager
2) Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > Remote Procedure Call > Double click it, restart it
3) Run the fix

Thats what I did, worked fine
