Ok

So I have decided to stick with it - got a new Av Cabinet and made my subwoofer wireless

This has had 2 huge positives

- better bass now with placement in the corner at the rear of the room

- its now much more wife friendly

Have you looked at sound bases? I got the Canton DM50 last year and it's great. Has excellent reviews too.

Looks like it has been replaced by the DM55:

The Sonos stuff is overpriced for what it does really.

Playbar won't decode DTS and has a number of other issues (like simulating 5.1 from a 2.0 source)
Bose is too expensive for what it is and the Bose sound gets fatiguing after a while, I find
Yamaha all the way for me - they are *the* name in soundbars.

Gimme a shout re: the sale of your old gear.

Right guys, looks like I will downgrade my AV system. Wife is fed up of the big cabinets and I must admit for the amount of use it get, I think I would prefer a soundbar and sub setup and take the hit on sound quality

The sub needs to be wireless. So far I seem to be looking at (not heard any of them though)

- Yamaha YSP2500 - seems to get good reviews and decodes Dolby
- Bose Soundtouch 220 - can't find much info
- Sonos Bar and wireless sub - just seems very expensive for basically and optical lead only input

Anyone had any experiences or gone down a similar route or offer alternative

Side note - my AV setup will be for sale
