Got a Sony movie pro package when dad got his laptop that wa really good, lots of editing options and can be optimised for youtube uploads, good for sound editing too

Had a lot of distortion noise wise from footage when I drove Ians track car round Coombe that I could adjust sound levels and edit out

Plus could change the focus as the gopro was more focused on the interior of the car rather than the view of the track out the windscreen

No chance movie maker offers more than go pro studio, there is zero colour adjustment apart from perhaps brightness, no sharpness, no contrast, no tint, only extra thing it gives you really is some shitty transitions lol

Having had no prior experience of video editing, I went down this route;

Started with gopro studio, found it too basic and didnt offer many features.

started using windows movie maker, just as easy to use, offered a few more features and could do 90% of what I wanted.

Then moved onto Adobe Premiere Pro. After learning windows movie maker, it was a simple transition, but found Premiere pro offered ALOT of easy to use feature, so I would highly recommend using that.

A couple of own videos Here and here

as special Steve says, free software is ok for basic editing of footage. Very simple to use.
