Unless you own a fairly high end gaming rig, you'll not be running any games in 4K.

Consoles don't do 4K, they hardly do 1080p.

There'll always be a market for the latest and greatest spec, no matter how pointless.

Seeing as what you can actually watch in 4K is still more or less limited to a few shows on Netflix I'd argue that 8K is going to be pointless for the next decade.

Sharp have announced the release of an 8k TV later this year. I'm not sure what the point is really as there are no 8k cameras that I know of that can shoot such footage. What media could 8k movies even be stored on? I'm pretty sure blurays use the majority of a 50gb disc on a full hd movie with DTS MA soundtrack?
