I had an onkyo tx nr616 but it used to get very hot until it packed in, so swapped it for a denon x3000 which runs very cool and has near enough same features.

slim 1507 or 1607 Maramtz if you are short of space

Denon do some great entry amps now

Sony also do great receivers up to £500

Get yourself on AV forums - great second hand buys

Hey! I need a bit of help with my home cinema set up, mainly my speaker set up. I currently have a Bose Acoustimass 6 set up, this is all connected up to a Denon AVR-1507 Receiver, which although is perfectly useable, it's now about 8+ years old and is huge! I'm wanting something more compact to replace the receiver, mainly one that isn't as deep as it doesn't fit in my tv cabinet either.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should replace it with? I don't want to spend a fortune on anything, as it doesn't get used all the time, and probably not to it's full potential either!
