Nothing. I have the HDMI (2) ARC on the TV going to the HDMI 1 input on the amp... and the PS4 going to HDMI 1 on the TV.

Works perfectly apart from that above issue. Doesn't matter too much as you obviously can't watch both things at the same time anyway, the only thing it does mean is I can't pause a game and watch TV... have to turn the PS4 into 'rest mode' first.

What is the HDMI out on your onkyo unit connected to?

Okay no worries. It just seems I should be able to connect the PS4 directly to the amp... but when I do that I only get picture (when TV is the source) or sound (when HDMI is the source) but not both at the same time!

Just checked. Don't think my tv is arc compatible. I just have the sound from the freesat box going into the onkyo.

Or quite often i just leave onkyo and freesat off and just watch the tv which had built in free view.

Not sure on that arc thing. Can't recall it. I just plugged xbox, sky box into the onkyo and then one lead out to the tv.

Will have to look at instructions

They do sell an upgrade that adds centre and rear speakers but i never got round to buying that.

I don't play music through it, only tv and xbox, movies etc

How much did you pay?, as when i was looking into buying it on amazon the price kept going up and down.

Paid £245 :)

Do you have it running HDMI ARC? Wondered if you could help me with something...

This is how I have things:

TV [HDMI 2 ARC] --- AMP [HDMI 1]
TV [HDMI 1] --- PS4 [HDMI]

Quite simple  now the only issue I have is if the PS4 is turned on, and I switch over to the TV, the signal is terrible and quite often gives up completely and outputs 'Signal weak or not available'

If I unplug from HDMI 1 on the TV or turn the PS4 to rest mode (or off completely) the signal comes straight back and is fine!

There's obviously some kind of conflict going on... any idea how to resolve this?

I have a yamaha ysp2500 in my bedroom and it's awesome. Infact it's quite mad how sounds sound like they are behind you from a soundbar. It also has a wireless sub. I use it a lot for playing music off my ipad via Bluetooth and music sounds great too. I couldn't reccommend it more highly

Any good? I've just ordered it as there was only one remaining in stock at Amazon.

Shame it's not seen an update for 5 years, but it does get good reviews across the board. I really want some B&W's but just don't have the space for them atm, I guess I can always upgrade the speakers independently this way :)

Cheers for the above. Installed my new TV over the weekend and must say I have a bit more space around the TV than I though, so thinking about going for this instead...

Why not get a decent stereo setup?

You'll get a miles better setup for playing music and you'll be a third of the way towards a proper 5.1 surround set.

I run mine like this, Sony soundbar (HT-CT60BT), it's okay for the price it retails at.
I want something better though.

Yo.

Does anyone run a soundbar directly in front of their TV? I didn't want to go that route at first but I think it's going to be the best setup I can manage for the time being... just wondering if anyone could share photos and what you think of them in general :)
