We've got a few Asus Zenbooks in at work for testing - I like the concept of these Core M laptops, great for people who want portability and only do simple things like web stuff and word processing but don't want to mess about with a tablet.

New Macbook has a processor tuned for everyday tasks with maximum battery life (though not quite as hobbled as a tablet/phone as suggested above) - it performs about as well as a base-spec 2011 MacBook Air. It only has a single USB-C port which does everything - charging, connectivity etc, but you need adaptors for everything like hooking up to an external screen or whatever. Main benefit is the retina display and battery life. If all you do is web browsing, it'll do the job just fine.

Macbook Air is thin and light, more powerful than the Macbook but not as powerful as the Macbook Pro. Represents the right balance of power, size and weight - will suit most people, most of the time.

Macbook Pro is for heavy lifting like video editing and some amount of gaming (though don't expect to be able to crank up all the settings to max obviously); you don't need that kind of power for an every day computer.

Cheers dude! The Macbook seems to be kinda pointless in that case, though I do like the black screen surround....

New MacBooks have tablet/mobile phone internals. MacBook Air uses "real" computer parts.

Basically the Air is more powerful. The MacBook is a tablet with k/m and no touch screen.

MBP is more powerfull yet with better graphics card and possible to spec to a quite high level.

As always with computers, it depends what you intend to use it for.

They look the same, are they...? Or just different internals? Is the Macbook more powerful than the MBA?

Whats the advantages of a MBP over both?
