Originally posted by Dom Have you tried manually changing DNS servers (guide - HERE) to Google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) - make any difference?
ok, that worked! what does it mean? does it mean google will see everything im doing etc.? any risks to using these dns' and not 192.168.0.1 that it was assigned to?? :)
If 192.168.1.254 is your router's IP address, going off that you can access the routers admin pages via that IP address, then DHCP should be sending out 192.168.1.254 for the primary DNS server and not 192.168.0.1 :boggle: I suspect if you remove the Google DNS servers you stuck in and replaced it with 192.168.1.254 then it'll work. And if that's the case then there is a bug in HH4 or a bodged setup somewhere. However, if using 192.168.1.254 as the DNS server doesn't work, then have a look in the routers admin pages and see which (primary and secondary) DNS servers it's been assigned by BT and then manually use those - this still uses the same DNS servers but just bypasses the router. If that works then it's the router; if it doesn't then it's to do with bodged BT DNS servers, which case just use Google's.
