Windows 8 (well the metro interface part) is much more suited to touch screen hardware. On a traditional non-touchscreen PC it takes a bit of getting used to!

As pow says the search facility is brilliant! And once you realise that you drag apps to the bottom of the screen to close them you're sorted ;)

The Microsoft surface is also LOOOOVVELLLYY and I'm hankering after a pro when they release them in the UK :|

You speak the most sense in this thread

Yes.
Use it at home as main OS.
Sadly installed a traditional start menu, although I got used to the metro, it just seemed a great big huge waste of space for for what could done via a start menu.
I don't have a touchscreen monitor so it made sense to install the start menu :)

That was already on its way out in windows 7.. Hence the introduction of task-bar pinning :)

Just press start and type what you want, using the mail and calendar metro apps though

Using W8 as my main OS, love the startup/shut down times but never use it in Metro, just looks a mess, desktop mode all the way for me.

took the plunge and upgraded to 8, so far i'm enjoying it, nice to have things pinned and just quick click and it opens

Evening All,

I did have one of these codes which was e-mailed to me but then passed it too a friend and have since decided that I would like to go to Windows 8.

By any chance does anyone have an upgrade key they would like to pass on so I can get Windows 8 for 14.99
