Just use the 7 upgrade disc, you shouldn't need to install Vista first.

Use the 7 upgrade disk as well, but put the product key in when it asks you, not later

Ok so the HDD in my laptop died and I've bought a WD Scorpio Black to replace it.

Question is, do I just plug it in, turn on and insert the Windows installation disk or is it more complicated than that.

Windows Disk is Vista but I've got a Windows 7 upgrade disk aswell.

Thanks
