You can get replacements; just a case of removing the back cover and then unscrewing the battery.

Actually found a different one. Paid 800 for an XPS 13 with i7 and 256gb SSD with a 3 year on site warrenty.

Pretty happy considering Dell even on offer are still flogging it at 1229.

Still a £160 more though.

Toby - Had a Dell for 4/5 years and it's still going strong (apart from me putting a crack in the surround), as V931_FEF said, don't completely rule them out.

We got a few of them in a few years back through my dads company as they bought in bulk and he added a couple to the ordee. My died, my sisters had hers replaced under warrenty, my brothers died and my mums is still going but slow. They were excellent value for money at the time I'm just worried its going to be buggared the whole time.

Its £400ish under retail and and £180 cheaper than the offer Dell has on so I may give it a go or may go for a mac air if I can find one for a decent price.

Duno about this one but my sister has had 3 Dell laptops over the years and never had any problems at all. Don't write them off just yet mate :)

These any good? Swore I wouldn't get another Dell as I've had a catalogue of errors with one I had for 18 months as well as others that I know but seen one for £700 which seems the best way to get a ultrabook with the budget I currently have.
