Got to hand it to Nominet, all they needed was my invoice to him from last year and they sorted it for £30.

All sorted! Wooo

Cheers guys.

Both those sites are up though - might be worth contacting them and explaining the situation

This! Contact Nominet if it's a UK TLD.

I've got a running contract with 1&1 where payment comes out every 1-3 months, can't remember which. I'm assuming they've frozen the old web guys account due to non payment.

Your client will have to contact Nominet directly - he'll probably have to pay £12 to change registrant details/tag info, but then once that's done he/you can take control of the domain.

Not sure why it says suspended though, maybe his old web guy hasn't paid the registrar for the domain renewal?

As the title really, a client of mine registered his domain through some local guy. The company went bust and he now cannot contact them, his website went down this morning, on the whois it says registration suspended;

Registrar:
1 & 1 Internet AG [Tag = SCHLUND]
URL: http://www.1and1.co.uk or http://registrar.1und1.info

Relevant dates:
Registered on: 14-Apr-2005
Renewal date: 14-Apr-2013
Last updated: 20-Feb-2012

Registration status:
Registered until renewal date.
*** This registration has been SUSPENDED. ***

Where does he / I go from here in getting control of the domain again? He's had a LOT of SEO work and very good results on the domain, so to upload it to a new domain is stupid.

Thanks guys!
