Leopard was the last official update anyway...

For Intel machines the jump to SL really does give a noticeable performance upgrade. The reduction in OS footprint alone is pretty impressive.

Not sure if I'll be going for the ML update. Don't see much benefit from the new features tbh and never suffered from stability issues with Lion, since the first few updates.

Balling - Depends on the service pack but usually they include new features; IIRC Win7's last SP included a load of touch screen features.

All the best software came on cassette (even though I don't think there's a cassette drive in that pic :():

Or perhaps laser disk. I wish I could find a picture of a PC with a laser disc drive - we had one at home years back and the disk tray was the width of the computer!

I'm still on Leopard, haven't needed to upgrade yet.

Lots of perfomance upgrades since Leopard though.

The trouble is, my iMac is a G5 :(

I can upgrade the Intel MBP though

Probably be about £30 or £40 to upgrade. MS don't charge for service packs... Not sure if that's an accurate comparison but that's my opinion.

Do service packs include new features? Or just stability upgrades?
