Depends if you're using it to sit on Facebook or do proper work, which case it mimics Vista ie: bugs, dodgy drivers and crashing applications (Yet to meet a studio manager that has made the upgrade; SL is rock-solid in comparison).

Sam - Essentially, yeah (although less of the super and dooper)! The iMessage app is also a confusing one as it is a bit flawed ie: what happens when your iPhone buddy isn't in a 3G/Wifi area and you send them a message from your Mac/iPad? I guess it throws up an error rather than sending it as a text :boggle:

Well I've got a MBP that I use for usual shite i.e. email, surfing, web development, remote access, running Windows in VirtualBox, iTunes.

Also have an iPhone but I don't connect it to my MBP any more as I can do over the air updates for iOS and not have to use iTunes.

I think it depends how often you use your laptop, what you use it for and whether or not you have other apple products etc.

I think it looks quite promising.

Yeah I've got Lion on mine Nic, the only thing that ever crashes seems to be Microsoft programs ironically.

So basically Dom it just turns your Mac into a super dooper iPad then?

You have to laugh when they are trying to use a "Notes" application as a feature to promo it.

Bit like the song and dance about.. a TWO button mouse when they released one

From what i've read it's a lot closer to iOS than Lion and they've gone OTT on the whole cloud/syncing whohar ie: messaging app is linked across Macs/iPhones/iPads.

I'd personally wait and see what it turns out like as Lion ended up being the Vista of OS's (full of bugs and annoyances).

I only got my MBP late last year and the OS will already be out of date when this new one is released FFS

I haven't even got Snow Leopard yet

Is this basically just an upgrade that turns your Mac into an iPhone/iPad of sorts?
