Just plug them both into router, simple.360 is pretty limited to the types of media you can play aswell,got to stick to .avi files with 2 channel audio and also download the media update crap on the 360

Nothing on zune, still cant view files from xbox. Do I need to do anything router side?

Yep, works exactly the same. But without the xbox connected with a lan cable, just wired.

Mine doesn't have wireless anyway but would prefer it wired as I mainly watch blu rays and they buffer sometimes when its wireless / a large file.

Its very easy to do.

Plug your harddrive into the router, plug your xbox into your router. Go to "play Video" Click your harddrive. Booom all your videos will be there.
