cheers every 1, i totaly removed winamp, downloaded it again and re-installed and re-booted, problem solved!!

looks like its trying to use an incompatable MP3 codec. Download the new windows media player which should fix it all.

i had summit like that, but thats cus i put xp over 98.

Although that appears to be listing the path to a C++ file? Do you have any programming software installed on your computer? I'm just wondering if it's trying to open it to let you debug it?...

Have you re-downloaded Winamp, or jsut installed the same version again?

I'd recommend removing Winamp altogether, rebooting, download it again and give it another bash :)

Hi, i have used the winamp agent for playing music on my pc 4 ages, but wen i tried to listen to an mp3 on my hard drive, i got this pop-up message

"Assertion failed"
"Expression: records > 0 && recordsize > 0
File:C:\projects\studio-488\bfc\std.cpp
Line:88"

and the buttons "ok" and "cancel" below it

Ive tried restarting a few times, no change
Tried re-installing winamp, again , no change, please help as its driving me mad!!:o:o
