	Yeah its quite a good spec - very similar to my work laptop and it runs very nicely, specially once you put an SSD in it.

	I was tempted to wait; but if i got the air i wanted the 13'3 and was going to be looking at over £1K; and the pro i think is quite hi spec'd

	R.E. the spec - what the MacBook Air lacks in numbers, it makes up for with the SSD. There are some interesting comparison videos on Youtube of it doing disk intensive work with Photoshop and it being faster than a Pro, but it's a lot slower when doing processor intensive work. I guess it depends on what you want to use it for, also, the screens on the Airs are pretty poor in comparison to the Pro and the case is very flimsy.

	If your going to go for a Pro I would go for one of the latest Sandybridge ones. At work I have a very good i7 laptop but a collegue has just got the i7 sandybridge version (CPU is only 1 year difference) but it is twice as powerful!

	The new air should be our this week (tomorrow) if the rumours are correct. They are basically normal laptops, decent spec, really well built, and come with really good after sales service. Buying used is fine, but they hold their price really well and you might feel like just chucking a couple hundred extra to get it new. Make sure you get a sandybridge model of a pro if you choose that route

	Hold off the air for a few more days as an update is iminent so the old models will drop in price. The top end air is not too bad. IMO I would either go for the top end air or the top end MBP. I don't think the lower end MBPs give you much over the top end airs (well the new airs that is) i.e. the 13" air has the same resolution as the 15" MBP! The new "i" based airs are going to be very capable machines, specially if they are using the new roumers high speed SSDs

	Rite i think my lapotop is nearing the end of its life; its 3.5 years old and used pretty much everyday for work and general browsing and development so has served me well. Thinking of treating myself to a Macbook pro or air; love the look of the air but im not really sure the pro is any better? Also the specs on apples do confuse me slightly as they never seem as good as just a normal laptop. Also where would be best to buy one from; and would secondhand be wise if it was a year old?
