Yeah its quite a good spec - very similar to my work laptop and it runs very nicely, specially once you put an SSD in it.

I was tempted to wait; but if i got the air i wanted the 13'3 and was going to be looking at over £1K; and the pro i think is quite hi spec'd

Will be interesting to see how it matches up to the new Air - I think it will be a close run thing.

R.E. the spec - what the MacBook Air lacks in numbers, it makes up for with the SSD. There are some interesting comparison videos on Youtube of it doing disk intensive work with Photoshop and it being faster than a Pro, but it's a lot slower when doing processor intensive work. I guess it depends on what you want to use it for, also, the screens on the Airs are pretty poor in comparison to the Pro and the case is very flimsy.

If your going to go for a Pro I would go for one of the latest Sandybridge ones.

Hold off the air for a few more days as an update is iminent so the old models will drop in price.

Rite i think my lapotop is nearing the end of its life; its 3.5 years old and used pretty much everyday for work and general browsing and development so has served me well. |
