Aye their avi im sure on my hdd and I play them through vlc. Wouldnt be majorly used for internet but im sure it would cope, I happily use my iphone4 for surfing alot. Only thing im concerned about is screen size

if the videos you are planning to watch have been aquired online (avi) you should be fine. Just make sure it has all the codec pack upgrades some of witch you will have to pay for from Archos. 500gb storage for that price is excellent value in terms of portable playable media storage. No idea about internet. My archo is an old model from 2005 and still works perfect and plays all video formats I require.

Has anyone had any experience with these? Looking for something to take offshore for watching films on and surfing the net if I have wifi access. Also for flying to America later in the year, something to keep me entertained. Did fancy an ipad but wondered if these were any good? Would save me carrying a laptop bag offshore, already got 2 bags as it is
