Originally posted by Balling I can not be arsed with drivers and hardware settings.
Still need to install drivers (Ktext's) for hardware :boggle: Apart from the obvious, ie: needing to run FCP / Logic, Macs originally (when Macs were Macs running PowerPC processors, rather than Macs being PC's in sheep's clothing) offered better performance to a equivalent PC. And this was certainly the case with my 001 Protools PC and G4 rigs (PC was slightly higher spec at 1GHz) at home and in the studio; the G4's handle 50% more plugins under Protools than on the Window system(s). But since Apple decided to go Intel, stupid idea personally, the performance increase Macs had has pretty much disappeared and there is no real reason to go one or other unless your software dependant (FCP/Logic etc). Unfortunately, this stigma has stuck and a lot of people still believe there is this massive performance increase going Mac. And if you're just after the OSX experience, grab a copy of 10.6 for £20/30 and install it on your PC hardware.
