I had a Genie sim. Ended up with loads of credit as I couldn't get through the texts!

It's likely to be some referal link. If you refer someone (obviously you need an account) and they activate the sim then you get £5 'payback'. Every 6 months this 'payback' can be taken as credit or cash (or i think there is a give it to charity option).

Edit - You also get 'payback' for kudos on the forum ie: help someone, they give you kudos, you get £3 'payback'.

It's online or via O2 vouchers, that's it! There's no phone top-up with cards!

Support is also limited to Online, either via 'Contact an Agent' or the Forums. But you got to realise that this is an online MVNO hence only 20 odd people running it and the reason why they can offer low prices. It certainly isn't for everyone!

I see someone is after their £5 referal, Steve ;)

Been with them 5/6 months and i would on the whole it's a good MVNO. But they have had a few big outages and other issues, but they've only been running a year. There have also been a few posts (on their forums) regarding the 'Unlimited' data with some people having been told to 'carm' it (although apparently they were bordering on 20GBs in a month).
The 'payback' system is good, but it's only useful if you're actively involved in the online community.

Ben - It works similar to PAYG in that you topup X credit. But they do bundles, called GoodyBags (like the £10 one steve posted), which you can apply to your account every month. You can also set it up to either automatically add X credit to your account when it gets low or add a Goodybag when the current one runs out.
Although note that the Goodybags are monthly and you can not apply more than one Goodybag in a month. So if you run out of mins then call time is taken from credit, likewise with texts. Also they don't offer a BlackBerry BIS service (BB will work but you BBM won't work, nor with push email and it's a bit of an arseache getting web to work correctly).
