If you aren't using a router you need to set your PC up as a gateway. Then the other PC's will only be able to use the internet when the gateway pc is on. | |

gizmo - the ip address will be contained within the hub and the external ip address will be given by the DHCP server from NTL this ip address will by dynamic which means that it can change but will always be a valid one :) | |

Windows comes with two variants of IP Config; ipconfig and winipcfg I believe. | |

its a ntl broadband external modem its connected to my pc by usb but its also connected to the hub | |

is ur hub an active one? if so, then it will use the external ip address to connect out to internet then u will have a internal static ip address which will be used to connect the pc's through the hub | |

u mite need a router if not u can set up modem sharing if ur using win2 onwards | |

just got broadband i have 3 machines linked throu a ethernet hub i want to know how can i run the broadband through one of the other machines or both so all of them have internet but the the lan to the internet broadband. |
